Tip Reasoning
Chelsea managed a slender but deserved victory over Middlesbrough last weekend as Diego Costa’s first half goal was enough to hand them the three points. This made it six wins from their last seven games in all competitions and six on the bounce in the Premier League, a run which has taken them to the top of the table.
They currently lead Liverpool and Manchester City by one point, and with a clash at the Etihad coming up next weekend they will be hoping to go into the game in good shape.
Antonio Conte, after a slightly edgy start to life at Stamford Bridge, has finally found balance among his team. They are excellent at both ends of the pitch at the moment, and at the more exciting end it’s all thanks to Diego Costa and Eden Hazard. The two have scored 17 goals between them in the Premier League this season and have nine in their last five combined. Eden Hazard has five in his last five and has scored six of his seven goals on home soil, averaging one every 82 minutes. Backing him to score anytime at 13/8 looks to be the best option for our anytime goalscorer predictions.
Tottenham’s season is going much less successfully. A flurry of goals in Monaco on Tuesday ended their Champions League campaign much earlier than anticipated. They will now go into the final group game hoping (or maybe not) to secure 3rd position and go through to the Europa League knockout stages.
This defeat made it three losses, five draws, and just one win in their last nine outings in all competitions. Harry Kane is now back after an ankle ligament injury so we can expect that record to improve, but he will be facing a Chelsea side who have kept six Premier League clean sheets in a row on Saturday.
The advantage for this one clearly lies with Chelsea. They have won six of their seven games at Stamford Bridge this season and are facing a Spurs side who are out of form and faced a gruelling midweek clash in Monaco. Two of Spurs’ last three trips away have ended in defeat and they haven’t won on the road in six attempts, so backing a Chelsea Win at 8/11 looks a good choice here. I think 2-0 at 17/2 is a good option for our correct score predictions as well.
