Chelsea vs West Brom Betting Tips

Guus Hiddink has made a decent start to his second life at Chelsea, beginning with draws against the in form Watford and Manchester United before winning away to Crystal Palace and then at home to Scunthorpe in the FA Cup.

These results, along with their managerless 3-1 triumph over Sunderland, make it five games without defeat for the struggling Premier League champions, so things finally seem to be on the up.

Chelsea are still all the way down in 14^th position in the Premier League though, with just six points separating them from the unthinkable relegation zone. A win on Wednesday would see them leapfrog West Brom, who sit in 12^th position.

The visitors are in fairly good form overall though. They come into this match on the back of a three match unbeaten streak, although their wins against Newcastle and Stoke will be slightly marred by a lucky draw against Bristol City in the FA Cup. They needed an equaliser in the last kick of the game to earn a replay as well.

They may be in decent form in the Premier League, but away from home West Brom have been disappointing.

They have only won one of their last seven away days in all competitions, and they have been on the losing side four times.

This is down to the crumbling of their defence when outside the Hawthorns. The usually solid back line have conceded 11 goals in their last seven matches on the road.

This doesn’t bode well for the visitors. They come up against an improved Chelsea side who are still enjoying a honeymoon period with Guus Hiddink. The hosts have scored seven times in their last four matches and look much sharper than they did this time last month.
