Chesterfield vs Bury Predictions

Two teams who’re both battling for survival in League One come together here. At this stage of the season beating relegation rivals is a must for these sort of teams so this really is a big game for both. Chesterfield managed to snatch a draw late in the day away at Gillingham last time out and will be hoping for better here, although Bury shouldn’t be discounted after they’ve begun to perform much better in recent weeks.

Bury have certainly turned a corner of late and, after spending so long looking hopeless at the back, have shown particular improvements in defence. Keeping a clean sheet against Swindon at the weekend was a good start, but keeping out an MK Dons side who can score plenty of goals was far more impressive during the week and it appears as though The Shakers are building a solid base for which to build upon and, ultimately, stay in the division.

Of the two teams it is Bury who carry a great attacking threat and it is on this basis that the visitors are fancied to go well here. At odds of 1/1, ‘Bury Draw No Bet’ is the best option here. Back-to-back clean sheets should leave them confident, while they’re certainly capable of scoring goals, having notched more than just four teams in the entire division.

Failing to score has been a bit of a theme for Chesterfield of late, especially at home. The hosts have failed to find the net in three of their last five at home. It would be no surprise if they found it hard to build up a head of steam going forward against a Bury defence that is seemingly rejuvenated.

If the visitors can continue to defend in the same manner as their recent outings, then there’s every chance that their superior forward-line can see them get a result in this one.
