Chicago Fire vs CF Montreal Predictions
- Montreal have only conceded two goals in their last six matches.
- Montreal have won their last four meetings with Chicago Fire.
Fire benefitting from good fortune
Chicago have won three of their last four MLS matches, but they have been rather fortunate of late and they look a little short at home to Montreal.
Fabian Herbers gave the Fire a 1-0 victory over Nashville last weekend, but the Tennessee side won the shot count 10-4 and corner count 10-2 in that Soldier Field contest and their recent results paint a rather false picture.
Chicago have beaten Portland 2-1 and Kansas 1-0 in a good run, but they lost the shot and corner count in both of those matches and a 3-1 defeat at Orlando is probably a better reflection of the Fire’s recent performances.
Arnold Souquet remains suspended for the visit of Montreal, and although Frank Klopas appears to have made a positive impact since taking over from Ezra Hendrickson, the jury is certainly still out.
Montreal can bounce back
The Impact have lost two MLS matches on the bounce against New York City and Atlanta, but they performed with credit in those contests and Hernan Losada’s side really should have taken something from those games.
Finding a regular goalscorer has been a problem for the Canadians, but they have conceded only two goals in their last six matches and they look good value to stand firm in the Windy City.
