Chicago Fire Draw No Bet

Reason for tip

Chicago have lost just one of nine MLS home games this season and appear to be finding a new lease of life under interim boss Frank Klopas, something poor travelling Nashville SC may find out this weekend.

Chicago Fire 2-1

Reason for tip

Despite their recent improvement, Chicago remain inconsistent, so if they are to beat a Nashville SC side that have won just three of ten MLS away games this season, it may be by a narrow 2-1 scoreline.

Chicago Fire vs Nashville SC Predictions

  • Chicago have lost just one of nine MLS home games this season
  • Chicago have won two of their last three fixtures
  • Nashville have lost their last two away matches

Fire can reignite their playoff hopes

It has been a difficult season for Chicago but they retain hope of reaching the playoffs and can improve their chances with a home victory over Eastern Conference highfliers Nashville.

Frank Klopas has been the Fire’s interim head coach for the last two months, having stepped up from an assistant manager position, and he has done a reasonable job.

Chicago have taken six points from their last three fixtures, which were all away from home, and they should expect to make progress over the next few weeks as they look forward to four consecutive fixtures at Soldier Field.

The Fire were beaten 3-0 by Nashville in early May, prompting the dismissal of Ezra Hendrickson and a promotion for Klopas.

They will want to demonstrate how much they have improved under the new regime and can give Nashville a much tougher game.

Nashville’s travel troubles may continue

Nashville have won just three of ten MLS away games this season and they may struggle to secure any points from their trip to Illinois.

Gary Smith’s side were beaten at Montreal (0-1) and Columbus Crew (0-2) on their last two road trips and they need to find a solution because six of their next nine fixtures are away from home.

Nashville’s fixture against Chicago should be a fairly even affair but the home side look the more likely winners.
