Club Brugge vs PSG Predictions

• Paris St Germain have won six of their last eight away Champions League matches.
• Club Brugge have lost three of their last five Champions League home games, including by 5-0 to PSG.
• There have been 17 goals in the last five Brugge home UCL games and 19 goals in the last five PSG away UCL games.

PSG debut new ‘MNM’ attacking trident

It looks like Club Brugge will have the dubious pleasure of facing the world’s most exciting attacking trident for the first time when Lionel Messi joins Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in the starting line-up at Jan Breydalstadion this week.

Messi has played just 24 minutes for the Parisians so far, coming off the bench for Neymar, so it will be interesting to see how the trio dovetail when in harness from kick-off in Belgium.

Because great players tend to make things work, it would be foolish to expect anything other than a devastating display and Club Brugge look tailor-made opponents for PSG.

Phillipe Clement’s men aren’t cautious by nature – as 15 goals scored and 11 conceded in seven top-flight games this term would indicate.

They have also proven entertaining in the Champions League with 17 goals in their last five home games (just two fewer than  have been scored in PSG’s last five road trips).

Therefore a PSG win with at least four goals offers plenty of appeal for Wednesday’s meeting and a similar scoreline to the Ligue 1 giants’ 5-0 win of 2019 cannot be ruled out.

However, given PSG are still without some important defenders and defensive midfielders, our preference in the correct score betting is 3-1 to the visitors.
