Cologne vs Eintracht Frankfurt Betting Tips & Predictions

Cologne are really struggling to find that winning spirit this season, and their inconsistent run hasn’t showed any signs of improving since the return of Bundesliga football.

They come into this game having won just one of their last eight Bundesliga matches, although to be fair their excellent defence has limited their losses to just two.

This means that Cologne have played out five draws in their last eight Bundesliga matches, making them the current, and overall, draw specialists of the Bundesliga this season.

Their inability to win, yet refusal to lose, has taken them to a fairly comfortable, but predictably unspectacular 9^th position in the Bundesliga. They are seven points above the relegation playoff position and six points adrift of a Europa League qualification position.

Eintracht Frankfurt are in a less comfortable position. They sit in 15^th position in the Bundesliga and could slip into the relegation playoff position if they lose on Saturday. However, due to the tightness of the middle of the table, a win could send them as high as 11^th.

The visitors have managed to win two of their last five Bundesliga matches, with two defeats and a draw making up the rest of their results. But both of these wins came in Frankfurt, and away from home they have only picked up nine points from a possible 30 this season.

Six of Cologne’s last eight matches have ended with fewer than three goals scored, and they have only scored more than a single goal on one occasion during this period. Eintracht Frankfurt have only seen three or more goals scored on three occasions in the last eight matches, and they have only scored a total of four goals themselves during this period.

This is making me look towards an Under 2.5 Goals prediction. Cologne’s defence is very solid and I think the visitors will struggle to break the hosts down. But Cologne don’t tend to go for big wins, and generally look to keep a tight ship at the back and nick the odd goal.

This makes odds of 43/40 for Under 2.5 Goals look very good value to me, so I’m going for that along with a 1-0 win for Cologne at 15/2 for my correct score prediction.
