Cologne 2-1

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in eight of Frankfurt’s nine away games this season. Although they rarely lose on their travels, Cologne are a good side and can edge this contest 2-1.

Cologne vs Eintracht Frankfurt Predictions

  • Cologne have won three of their last six home Bundesliga games
  • Randal Kolo Muani has scored six goals in his last four league and cup games.
  • Both teams have scored in eight of Frankfurt’s nine away games this season.

Billy Goats can beat Europe-chasing Eagles

Recent results suggest there is not much to separate Cologne and Eintracht Frankfurt, but home advantage might just get the hosts over the line in their quest for three points this Sunday.

There are six places and 12 points between the clubs in the Bundesliga, but both have been to Munich and come away with creditable 1-1 draws against Bayern in recent weeks. The Billy Goats are unbeaten in four, but left some of their potency in the dressing room following a 7-1 January thrashing of Werder, scoring only once in the next three.

They will need to take their chances against a Frankfurt side that currently boasts one of the most in-form strikers around – Randal Kolo Muani. The Frenchman has scored six times in his last four games in all competitions and will probably pop up on the end of a goalscoring chance this Sunday.

Set play could lead to crucial breakthrough

Head coach Oliver Glasner will be hoping Jesper Lindstrom recovers from the thigh problem that sidelined him for their midweek cup win over Darmstadt in time to keep his supply line to Kolo Muani going.  Djibril Sow should return to Glasner’s starting line-up as the Eagles look to stretch their unbeaten Bundesliga run to eight matches.

But this could be trickier after their exertions on Wednesday with Cologne not an easy side to get behind. Steffen Baumgart’s side are also very productive on set plays, which could help them make the breakthrough in this contest.

Given they have won three of their last six at home, gained creditable draws with Bayern and RB Leipzig lately and will be fresher, Cologne are the pick in the draw no bet market. A 2-1 home win is the correct score recommendation because of the Eagles’ superb scoring run this season.
