Entertaining contest on the cards at Balmoral

Cove Rangers have been the entertainers in this season’s Scottish League Cup, as they have scored eight goals across their two matches – more than any other team in the competition -, although they have also conceded four times.

Paul Hartley’s side followed up a 5-2 home success over Clyde with a 3-2 victory on the road at Brechin, although both those sides sit below them in the league pyramid and they should face a much sterner test when Premiership Livingston come to town.

Livi have also been amongst the goals in this season’s competition, netting three against Brechin and one in their penalty shootout loss to Hamilton last time out.

A similar outcome could be on the cards on Tuesday, as Cove have only kept one clean-sheet across their last 15 competitive matches, while they have only failed to score themselves in one of their previous seven.

It is a similar story for Livingston, who have registered just one clean-sheet in their last eight, but David Martindale will be hoping his side can claim a victory on Tuesday that would keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stages alive.
