Coventry City looked to have come on leaps and bounds since last season, where they were stationed towards the wrong end of the season come May, but unfortunately it all seems to have collapsed around them recently.

They come into this game having won just one of their last seven matches and two of their last 13. Five of their last seven outings in League One have resulted in a defeat for them, and they will be counting their blessings regarding their impressive first half to the season, because the form they are in is relegation battle standard.

Their awful form has seen them drop to 9th in the table, with five points separating them from the final playoff position occupied by Bradford. Their chase for the playoffs certainly isn’t over, but they need to turn their form around quickly before the top six becomes a distant speck on the horizon.

A home match against Colchester could be just what they need right now. The visitors sit second from bottom of League One with just 31 points from their 38 games, and they have an eight point deficit to make up before they can climb out of the relegation zone.
