Red Star Belgrade are the dominant force in Serbian football and they showcased that by securing a fifth consecutive domestic title last season. It saw them go into the Champions League (UCL) qualifying rounds. They breezed through the first round but were then edged out by Maccabi Tel Aviv, resulting in Belgrade dropping into the Europa League. They’re unbeaten domestically so far and they’ll want to put in a good performance in front of their home fans when they welcome Monaco.

Monaco were also knocked out of UCL qualifying at the final hurdle and they arrive here with some confidence after securing their first win in five games last time out, away to Nice in Ligue 1. They have failed to keep an away clean sheet in Europe so far this season and have earned just a solitary victory.

Goals to be seen in abundance

This should be an exceptionally competitive match with a high intensity and we could easily see a goalfest to kick things off. We do think the hosts will score but if Monaco utilise their superior quality, they can take the win. However, we’ll side with both teams scoring and at least three goals in the match.
