Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Goals at both ends has been a feature of this fixture as both teams to score has been a winning bet in nine of the last 10 meetings. Palace have conceded in nine of their 11 home games and Brighton haven’t managed an away clean sheet since August, so both teams to score appeals.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Four of the last six meetings have finished 1-1 and the other two games have been one-goal margin Palace wins. The Eagles are scoring exactly one goal-per-game at home and Brighton haven’t scored more than once against their fierce rivals since March 2019, so back these sides to share the points in a 1-1 draw.

Kaoru Mitoma To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Brighton’s Karou Mitoma is in a rich vein of form with three goals in his last three games. The Japanese midfielder has seven goals in 20 games across all competitions and can add to his account at Selhurst Park.

Albion and Eagles resume rivalry

Crystal Palace and Brighton clash at Selhurst Park on Saturday and these two sides head into this derby clash in contrasting form.

Albion have surged up the table after picking up 10 points from the last 12 available, while the Eagles are yet to win in 2023 and have four defeats in six games since the turn of the year.

There have been a few encouraging signs for Palace of late, however, and they have picked up points against top four hopefuls Newcastle and Manchester United recently, and they may be able to get a result when Brighton visit.

Goals at both ends looks likely

Games between these sides tend to be fairly close and four of the last six have finished all square, with Palace winning the other two by one-goal margins.

Both teams have scored in five of those fixtures and going back further there have been goals at both ends in nine of the last 10 meetings across all competitions in a run stretching back to 2017.

Both teams have scored in six of Brighton’s last eight games and they haven’t kept a Premier League clean sheet on their travels since August, a run of eight away league games in which they have conceded.

Palace have only managed two home shut-outs in 11 attempts in the league and are averaging exactly a goal-per-game at home, so both teams to score stands out.

Spoils could be shared at Selhurst

Goals at both ends could well be on the agenda, but this is unlikely to be a high-scoring affair either and a 1-1 draw looks a good correct score option.

As mentioned earlier, Palace average exactly one goal-per-game at home but they also only concede 1.5, while Brighton haven’t scored more than once against Palace in six meetings and four of those clashes have finished one apiece.

Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma is an obvious pick for a goalscorer as he has managed to grab a goal in each of his last three games, taking his tally to seven goals in 20 appearances across all competitions.
