Crystal Palace vs Norwich Predictions
- Crystal Palace have lost just one of their nine home games this season.
- Norwich have lost each of their last four games without scoring a single goal.
- Norwich have lost 12 of their 18 league matches this term.
Solid home form foundation for Palace’s season
Crystal Palace were dismantled at the hands of Antonio Conte’s Spurs on Boxing Day but even without the suspended Wilfried Zaha the Eagles should feel confident about their chances when they host a Norwich side in turmoil yet again.
Patrick Vieira’s side will be without their manager on Tuesday due to a positive Covid test but their home form has been impressive under the Frenchman, with just one defeat in his first nine matches at Selhurst Park helping them to the Premier League’s sixth-best home record.
Canaries’ dreadful run continues
Norwich, by contrast, have the league’s third-worst away record having collected just five points from eight games and their overall form has taken a nosedive after a brief respite in November.
Dean Smith helped the Canaries to eight points in his first four games in charge but since then they have lost four on the spin without scoring a single goal. The latest defeat – a 5-0 drubbing at home to Arsenal – was undoubtedly Smith’s worst game in charge so far.
Norwich have lost 12 of their 18 league matches now and remain rock-bottom of the table, three points adrift of safety with 17th-placed Watford having two games in hand.
Back the Eagles to fly to victory
Palace may be suffering a few selection problems but they look good value to resign Norwich to a fifth successive defeat here, so I’m backing them to continue their promising Selhurst Park form.
With the visitors scoring just one goal in their last six matches and finding the net a total of eight times in the league this season I’m expecting a Palace clean sheet, so I’m opting for a 2-0 correct score prediction as well.
Crystal Palace predicted lineup: Butland; Ward, Tomkins, Guehi, Schlupp; Hughes, Gallagher, Kouyate; Ayew, Mateta, Edouard
Norwich predicted lineup: Gunn; Aarons, Kabak, Gibson; Giannoulis; Gilmour, Lees-Melou, Byram; Cantwell, Tzolis, Pukki
- Norwich have sustained four successive Premier League reverses
- Crystal Palace have opened the scoring in six of their last eight Premier League home games
