Albania pushing for Euros

Albania have made a fast start in Euro 2024 qualifying, claiming two wins from three games to put early pressure on Czechia. They head into this clash second in the table, with a slow start by Poland potentially opening the door for the Albanians.

However, the visitors lost 1-0 in Poland to kick-off their qualifying campaign and they face another difficult trip on Thursday night.

Hosts to take step towards Germany

Czechia are unbeaten in this campaign and they’ve won three of four games in 2023. They inflicted a 3-1 defeat upon Poland to start off the new year and followed that up with a 3-0 victory at the Faroe Islands and a 4-1 friendly win against Montenegro.

The home side won all four of their home European Championship qualifiers in 2019 and they went unbeaten on home soil through 2022 World Cup qualifying. With hosts scoring at least twice in seven of their last eight at home, they should prove too strong for an Albania side who haven’t come through a proper test so far.
