Darmstadt vs Werder Bremen Betting Tips

Darmstadt made a promising start to their Bundesliga campaign following their promotion from the second tier last season.

They drew their opening three league matches against the likes of Hannover, Schalke, and Hoffenheim before winning away to Bayer Leverkusen last Saturday.

They had to invite Bayern Munich onto their turf on Saturday though, and fell to an expected 3-0 defeat.

What is impressive though is the fact that this was their first defeat of the season, and the newly promoted Bundesliga sides are putting in a very good showing so far.

Werder Bremen fell to a shock 1-0 defeat to the other promoted team on Saturday when Ingolstadt visited them and came away with a 1-0 win.

This was Werder Bremen’s second loss of the season, with the first being an opening day 3-0 defeat to Schalke.

In between these two losses was a draw against Hertha Berlin and victories against Borussia Monchengladbach and Hoffenheim.

This leaves them very close together in the Bundesliga, with Darmstadt sitting in 12^th position with six points and Werder Bremen holding a point advantage in 11^th place.

This is the first time since 1982 that these sides have lined up against each other. Each team has won one match, with two draws making up a total of four matches against each other. But with these matches taking place over 30 years ago, I don’t think any emphasis should be put on them.

I think this will be a close match, but I expect Werder Bremen to come away with something. They have picked up points in both of their away games so far this season and Darmstadt haven’t won a home game in the Bundesliga yet. Odds of 4/7 for a Werder Bremen Win or Draw Double Chance look like good value to me, along with a 1-1 draw at 5/1.
