Deportivo La Coruna vs Leganes Predictions

There are some cracking fixtures with potential for lots of goals amongst the midweek action in La Liga but it’s probably safe to say this isn’t one of them. There has only been 1 goal in total in Depor’s last 3 matches, scored by Raul Garcia of Athletic Bilbao on their visit to the Riazor earlier in the month. They drew 0-0 in a drab game at Alaves on Monday night and their failure to score a goal since selling star striker Lucas Perez to Arsenal won’t have been lost on anyone. They responded to selling their top scorer from last year by signing Joselu on loan from Stoke but he is injured and their other new forward, Florin Andone, is yet to really find his feet in the top flight.

They do though have 5 points, so it hasn’t been an awful start and the same can be said of Leganes who were very competitive in all their games, collecting 4 points until they were well beaten 5-1 at home by Barcelona at the weekend. They’ll be hoping to replicate their last visit to Galicia, when they won 1-0 at Celta Vigo on the opening day, as they head North again but like Depor they look a little short on firepower.

Therefore goals shouldn’t be expected in this game. Leganes have had some success so far by playing quite deep and trying to break and although Barcelona scored 5 against them, they have looked pretty solid at the back in their other games against weaker sides. When everything settles down these sides stand a very good chance of being in the relegation shake-up and unless one of their forwards can really step up to the plate, they are likely to be amongst the lowest scorers in the division.

Therefore, 1 goal might just be enough to settle this and backing Under 2.0 Goal Line at 2.000 looks to offer value here.
