Poland vs Ukraine Predictions
- Neither side is going to the World Cup
- Both teams have scored in Poland’s last four games
- Ukraine have a new manager in place
New era for Ukraine
Poland and Ukraine both missed out on World Cup 2026 so there is nothing riding on Sunday’s friendly between these two sides, although the visitors do have a new manager in charge.
Sergei Rebrov stepped down as Ukraine coach after their play-off defeat to Sweden and Italian Andrea Maldera has since taken charge. Sunday’s match is his first game in the hot seat.
Poland were also beaten by Sweden in the play-offs but they put their faith in Jan Urban in the wake of that loss. Urban had become manager during qualifying and was given an extended deal after the defeat to the Swedes.
Ukraine will want to make an impression but Poland are a tough nut to crack on home soil and the best angle for our main bet looks to be backing both teams to score.
There have been goals at both ends in each of Poland’s last four games and they are on a 16-game scoring streak, while Ukraine have scored in eight of their last 10 games and have only drawn blanks against France during that period.
Poland’s home advantage may not be massive in Wroclaw as Ukraine have been playing their home games in Poland. There doesn’t look a great deal to separate the two sides in terms of quality and a 1-1 stalemate could be on the cards.
