Deportivo La Coruna vs Real Betis Predictions

Deportivo’s early season bubble appears to have been burst after a 9 game winless run in all competitions over the last couple of months. In truth they’ve not been playing much worse but haven’t quite found a way to edge close matches, which they certainly were doing in the first half of the campaign.

They have still only lost 4 matches all season in La Liga, a record which only Barcelona and Real Madrid can better but have drawn on a staggering 13 occasions including all of their last 4 matches, making them by some distance the division’s draw specialists.

For a while newly promoted Real Betis were seen as the league’s away specialists but a 12 match winless run in all competitions dented their progress and saw Pepe Mel lose his job.

They ended that run with a 1-0 home win over Valencia last weekend and have been much better overall since the appointment of Juan Merino last month and have also picked up excellent draws against Real Madrid and Villarreal.

Therefore Real Betis look like really good value at 11/10 to get a result in this game and extend Depor’s winless streak to 10 matches. However it’s also hard to see them managing to get the win that could lift them as high as 11th given what a tough side to beat Deportivo are.

If you’d backed Deportivo to draw every game this season you’d have made a very healthy profit and this is another match that could well end all square. 8 of Depor’s 23 games in La Liga this term have finished 1-1 including 3 of the last 4. At 11/2 you can back this to be another 1-1 finish.
