      Derby vs Fulham Predictions

Derby are in fine form and won a tricky match 1-0 away to Ipswich last weekend. Their record since a shaky start to the season is by far the best in the division. Since drawing their opening four matches under Paul Clement and losing 2-1 to Leeds in week 5, Derby have taken 40 points from 17 matches, winning 12 times and losing just once.

That is promotion form by anyone’s standards and it is no surprise to see them in 2nd place and with the likes of Brighton and Hull just below them starting to wobble a little, a strong festive period could leave Derby in a really commanding position come mid-January.

Fulham by contrast are starting to look nervously over their shoulder after a winless run of 8 matches. They have Stuart Gray in caretaker charge but he has failed to stop their defensive problems or end their wait for a win and the Londoners needed a late equaliser from Ross McCormack last time out to rescue a point away against bottom club Bolton.

Fulham somewhat incredibly have both the best goalscoring record in the league but also the worst defensive record. Against an impressive Derby side you sense the latter could be more telling here and it’s hard to see a Fulham defence that has let in twice or more in all of their last 4 matches not being exploited by the Rams forward players. Therefore backing Derby to win and there to be over 2.5 goals at 21/20 looks the way to go here.

Fulham have only failed to score in 3 of their last 30 Championship matches so an away goal is a possibility but is likely to be academic and the Rams look good value for a 3-1 win at 10/1.
