Cork turn a corner

Cork City suffered an atrocious start to the season as they collected just nine points from their opening 15 games but they have seemingly turned a corner over the past month to boost their chances of avoiding a swift return to the second tier.

They lost to Dundalk last time out, but prior to that had won four successive games and conceded just one goal. This includes wins over top-spot holders Shamrock Rovers and fourth-place Bohemians.

Goals hard to come by in Londonderry

Next up is second-place Derry City, although the hosts have dropped off the pace in recent weeks and could find it tougher going than expected when Cork pay a visit to Londonderry.

The hosts are winless in their last four games and have found the net just once in that period, making a Cork double chance bet extremely appealling at big odds.

Derry City’s last two home games have each ended goalless and, given their goalscoring woes and Cork City’s newfound defensive prowess, another 0-0 draw is my choice for a correct score prediction.
