Marseille to Take Advantage of Dijon’s Dire Home Form

Dijon secured a point via a goalless draw away at Reims in midweek and sit third from bottom in the Ligue 1 table. Marseille ran out 3-1 winners at home to Montpellier on Wednesday, thanks to goals from Radonjic, Payet and Germain. Saturday’s guests sit 5^th in the table as things stand, but still have two games in hand over each of the four teams positioned above them.

Games between Dijon and Marseille have tended to go the way of Saturday’s guests. Marseille have won six of their nine meetings with Dijon since 2011 and are currently unbeaten against Saturday’s hosts in their last seven head-to-heads.

Marseille edge the form guide with two wins, one draw and three defeats from their last six matches, but neither team can claim to be in top form heading into this weekend’s clash. Dijon have really struggled at home this season and are yet to win any of their nine matches at the Stade Gaston-Gérard. The hosts have also struggled for goals in recent weeks, failing to score in four of their last six matches, including their last three home games.

Marseille haven’t kept a clean sheet since their 2-0 win at Nimes in December but will fancy their chances of improving that record against a misfiring Dijon. The visitors have scored at least one goal in each of their last five fixtures and that could be enough to beat Dijon this weekend.

We’re predicting a 1-0 win for Marseille on Saturday. Dijon have been so poor at home this season and while Marseille have lost their last two away games, the visitors should have enough about them to return to winning ways on the road.
