Dundee FC vs Dundee United Betting Tips

The season isn’t going particularly well for either of these Dundee based sides. Both find themselves badly out of form coming into this match and they know that a derby day victory would appease their fans and instil some much needed confidence into their squad.

Dundee FC come into the game having lost three of their last five outings in the Scottish Premiership and having only won one of their last ten games in the league. They have only lost four of these ten games though.

Their difficulty in winning has seen them steadily slide down the table, and they currently sit in 9^th position in the Scottish Premiership with 23 points from their opening 20 games. A win on Saturday could send them as high as 6^th though, whereas a loss would allow Hamilton Academical the opportunity to leapfrog them.

It could be worse though, they could be Dundee United. The visitors occupy the bottom spot in the Scottish Premiership and are already some way from safety. They have picked up just ten points from their 20 league matches, and it will take another ten points to be made up before they will leave the bottom position.

The visitors haven’t won a game since the end of October and have lost six of their eight games since that Halloween win over Ross County.

Away from home it’s even worse. They haven’t tasted victory on the road since August and have only managed to pick up two points from a possible 27 since then.

Of course, we know that anything can happen in a derby, but I think Dundee FC will go for the jugular on Saturday knowing that an early lead would leave their opponents all but defeated.

They are in marginally better form than Dundee United as well, so I think odds of 21/20 for a Dundee FC win on Saturday are good value for money. I’m also going to back a 2-1 correct score prediction at 15/2.
