Dynamo Dresden vs FC Ingolstadt Predictions

• Dynamo Dresden kept clean sheets in five of their last six home games last season, winning four.
• Dynamo Dresden beat Ingolstadt 4-0 at home in February.
• Ingolstadt didn’t keep an away clean sheet in their last six 3. Liga regular season games.

East Germans’ teamwork can win out 

Dynamo Dresden and Ingolstadt are two promoted sides with some interesting history in recent times.

They have faced each other in three of the past four seasons and on no occasion has the away team won (five home wins, 1 draw).

The last meeting was a 4-0 hammering at Dresden’s Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion and, although this probably won’t be a repeat, it is hard to believe the visitors can end that sequence.

The team is the star for Dynamo Dresden who, although they have strengthened this summer, have relied upon the same group of players that were crowned 3.Liga champions in pre-season.

Their final dress rehearsal fell flat when they were beaten 3-0 by Union Berlin, but the other friendlies went well for coach Alexander Schmidt.

Ingolstadt finished third and gained promotion via a play-off after which they parted company with coach Tomas Oral and installed attack-minded boss Roberto Pätzold.

They look well-equipped going forward, but haven’t replaced versatile war-horse Bjorn Paulsen who left when his contract expired.

Leadership on the field could be an issue when the going gets tough and their ‘we’ll try to score one more than you’ policy comes under scrutiny.

Dynamo Dresden can open their season with a win here, but we fully expect the visitors – who managed a 1-1 draw with top-flight Greuther Furth – to score at some point.

We’re in favour of a 2-1 home win here on the basis that Ingolstadt are dependable scorers on the road while Dynamo’s recent home form speaks for itself.
