Draw 0-0

Reason for tip

Palace have been brilliant defensively this season, but they need teams coming on to them to open up their transitional game and that might not happen against Dynamo Kyiv. The home side are pretty blunt at this level, having failed to score in five of their eight Europa League fixtures last term, They also looked short on firepower when they went out of Champions League qualifying to Pafos in August, so a 0-0 result might be the outcome.

  • Both teams have not scored in five of Palace’s nine matches this season

Palace’s foundations look rock solid

Dynamo Kyiv and Crystal Palace meet in Lublin on Thursday in what could be a low-scoring Europa Conference League encounter. Oliver Glasner’s Palace team have been solid as a rock this season and showed their best side against Liverpool in Saturday’s 2-1 home win over the reigning Premier League champions.

They restricted one of the most expensively-assembled strikeforces ever to a few crumbs of chances and were unfortunate to concede the goal that briefly put Liverpool on level terms.

The Eagles’ defensive structure should see them do well in the Conference League and it has already been on show in the qualifiers where they kept Fredrikstad at bay in both legs.

Dynamo look devoid of goals

A trip to Poland to face a Dynamo Kyiv side that have struggled to score in Europe for some time should hold no fears for them. The Ukrainian champions lost their leading scorer from last season to a big summer move and don’t seem to have replaced him.

They failed to score in five of their eight Europa League fixtures last term and also looked short on firepower when they went out of Champions League qualifying to Pafos in August.

Back both teams not to score in this one because the first goal will be crucial and, as we saw from Palace’s failure to score more than once in 180 minutes against Fredrikstad, Glasner’s side are still getting used to the rigors of European football.
