Eibar vs Rayo Vallecano Betting Tips

Eibar are still riding high in 7th place after a bright start to their Second season in the top flight. However they have only won one of their last 7 matches and are only 3 points above their opponents Rayo Vallecano who are down in 14th. It is a very congested middle of the table at the moment but when everything settles down you’d still expect Rayo to ultimately move above the Basque club.

Rayo Vallecano finished 7 places and 14 points above Eibar last season but have made a mixed start to the season. Their best performance came in their most recent match when they cruised to a 3-0 home win against Espanyol and a 5-2 defeat to Barcelona prior to that certainly wasn’t a fair reflection on the game.

Eibar are as short as 6/5 to win this but that doesn’t really represent value given they’ve only won 6 of their 23 La Liga home matches to date, losing twice that number. One of those home losses was to Rayo who won 2-1 on their last visit to the Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa in April.

They are a side that tends to enjoy life on the road and they’ve won 8 times away from Vallecas since the start of last season, which is really impressive for a club of their size. At 13/5 they look excellent value to pick up all the points here.

It’s a bit of a gamble but they are a positive side and one stat you should be aware of here is that Rayo have only drawn 3 of their last 45 La Liga matches so there is little sense in backing them in the ‘draw no bet’ market.

Eibar have scored in all of their last 5 matches though so there should be goals here and a repeat of Rayo Vallecano’s 2-1 win last season looks to be worth a punt at 11/1.
