These two sides made it out of Spain’s third tier last term and they lock horns on Monday as they bid for survival. The pair have made a solid start to life in the Segunda Division, with hosts Eldense sitting eighth with six points from nine matches.

Their opponents returned to the Segunda after one year away and they’ve taken four points from their first four. The pair do seem quite evenly matched, although home advantage and an in-form scorer could swing this towards Eldense.

Eldense have beaten Cartagena 1-0 and Eibar 2-1 already this term. Their victory over Eibar is their only home game to date so far, with home form playing a huge part in their promotion bid last season.

Eldense won 12 of 19 home games last term, drawing the other seven. They scored 32 times and conceded only 12 in return. While Alcorcon performed well to finish second in Group 1 in the third tier, they suffered five of their six league defeats on the road.

The hosts also boast one of the league’s form players, as Juanto has scored in three of their first four matches at this level. After notching in last season’s final game against Real Madrid II, the in-form forward should add to his four goals in five games with a strike on Monday night.
