Second from bottom Esbjerg won’t be relishing the prospect of facing AaB in their first Danish Superliga game back on Sunday.

Aalborg thumped their hosts in convincing fashion in each of the clubs’ last two meetings, winning 4-0 in the reverse league between the pair in August and 4-1 when the teams last played at the Blue Water Arena.

AaB’s goal-scoring powers on the road have been particularly potent since the end of last year overall, and Jacob Friis’s clinical charges notched 21 goals in their last eight games as the visiting team alone.

Esbjerg, who have kept just one clean sheet in their last 11 attempts on their own patch, have a defence porous enough for AaB to exploit again on Sunday, and that in turn makes them excellent value in the over 1.5 team goals market for the weekend’s tussle.
