Everton vs Brentford Predictions

  • Brentford have lost just two of their last ten Premier League games.
  • Everton have only won four of their last ten Premier League games.
  • Brentford are unbeaten in four meetings with bottom-half opposition.

Toffees slip up at Watford

Everton missed out on the chance to all but secure their Premier League survival in midweek as they were held to a goalless draw at Watford but they have another opportunity on Sunday, although they can only confirm their safety if they win and Leeds fail to do so.

The Toffees have managed to turn things around over the last month or so, though, picking up 11 points from their last six games and losing only to Merseyside rivals and title contenders Liverpool.

Brentford not lacking motivation

However, Brentford will not be an easy team to overcome and a lack of motivation certainly doesn’t seem to be affecting them, despite having very little to play for.

The Bees beat Southampton 3-0 last weekend to make it six wins, one draw and two defeats from their last nine games and they can move as high as tenth in the table with another win on Sunday.

Bees to keep relegation battle interesting

After starting 2022 with a torrid run of form, Thomas Frank’s side have won their last four meetings with bottom-half opposition and while Everton have picked up over the last month the pressure seemed to get to them at Vicarage Road. I fancy Brentford to get something from this game and keep the relegation battle interesting.

With Everton unbeaten in four home games, I don’t expect Brentford to take all three points and I’m backing a repeat of Everton’s last home draw – 1-1 against Leicester – for my correct score prediction.

Everton predicted lineup: Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Holgate; Iwobi, Doucoure, Allan, Mylolenko; Gordon, Gray, Richarlison

Brentford predicted lineup: Raya; Ajer, Jansson, Sorensen, Henry; Jensen, Norgaard, Eriksen; Mbuemo, Wissa, Toney

  • Both sides have found the net in 11 of Brentford’s 18 Premier League away matches
  • Five of Everton’s last six Premier League games have stayed under 2.5 goals
