Excelsior Over 1.5 Team Goals

Reason for tip

Excelsior scored four goals at Cambuur on opening weekend while PSV shipped four against AZ in the Super Cup and two to Fortuna Sittard last weekend. The champions have now conceded two or more goals in six of their last 10 matches, so could be vulnerable at the back on Saturday.

PSV 3-2

Reason for tip

Excelsior scored two or more goals in all of their pre-season games and four at Cambuur last weekend, but PSV should have more of the ball and avoid being beaten. They may have to score three goals to claim all the points, however, if they continue to defend as poorly as they have done in he past couple of games.

Noah Naujoks To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Noah Naujoks has scored 12 goals in his last 24 Eredivisie appearances for Excelsior, including a brace against Cambuur last weekend. His late runs into the box could cause problems for a PSV defence that has shipped six goals in two games so far this term.

Excelsior vs PSV Predictions

  • Excelsior scored four goals at Cambuur on opening weekend
  • PSV have conceded two or more goals in six of their last 10 matches
  • PSV shipped four against AZ in the Super Cup and two to Fortuna Sittard last weekend

Naujoks knows the way to goal

PSV are already playing catch‑up after dropping points on opening weekend, so cannot afford to make a mess of Saturday’s trip to Rotterdam to face Excelsior. The hosts went top of the table – if one exists after the opening round – with an emphatic 4-0 win at Cambuur last weekend.

Captain Noah Naujoks bagged a brace as he picked up where he left off from his 10-goal 2025-26 Eredivisie season, one from a counter-attack and another from a set-piece.

The Kralingers beat Utrecht 5-0 in their penultimate home game of the campaign, so may be capable of causing PSV plenty of problems.

Champions already under pressure

The champions were dismantled 0-4 by AZ in the Johan Cruyff Shield and then held 2-2 by Fortuna Sittard, meaning pressure is already mounting on head coach Peter Bosz and his squad.

Excelsior’s record against PSV hardly inspires much faith in them winning on Saturday, but they could certainly give the champions a bloody nose.

Back the home side to score two or more goals with confidence flowing freely in their camp ahead of this fixture. A 3-2 PSV win is the correct‑score play, with Excelsior’s attacking form likely to ensure another high‑scoring contest.
