We use stars to rate our confidence in our tips, with 3 being most confident to 1 being the least.
Exeter City 2-1 @ 15/2

Reason For Exeter vs Crawley Town Predictions

  • Exeter City have been undefeated in their last 10 home matches.
  • Crawley Town have scored in 88% of their away matches.
  • Crawley Town have failed to win in their last 14 away matches.

On a charge

They say a season is a marathon and not a sprint and, although teams may well have spells of form, they struggle to stretch it out over the course of the campaign. This weekend sees a side who are hoping they have the ability to stretch their form over the course of the campaign and finally take that final step in order to win promotion to England’s third tier.

The Grecians come into this match fully confident in their ability to claim the three points as they have been undefeated in their last 10 home matches and have seen only one visiting side walk away with the win in the league this season. With the hosts also winning in three of their last four outings, and scoring 10 times on the way, they should be fully confident in their ability to add another three points to their tally.

Troubles on the road

Crawley Town started the season well but haven’t been able to maintain their early form, slipping down the league and currently sitting in 12th place. They’ve only picked up two wins in their last six games and whilst relegation isn’t an issue for the club, their chances of making the playoffs also look a little out of reach.

Crawley have scored well this season, scoring 47 times but they’ve conceded 46 with their defence struggling at times. They have also had plenty of troubles on the road as they have won just one game on the road this term and, given that it came against a Leyton Orient side who are not exactly up there with the top teams in the division, it seems unlikely that they have ability to find the performance required to take the win this weekend.

A home win is on the cards

A look of the respective home and away form of these two sides suggests that this fixture is only going one way and backing a home win is the way to go. The hosts have only lost one home league game this season and the visitors have only won one match in the league on their travels. When you factor in that the Grecians are in good form at present and, whilst the visitors are hard to beat, they frequently struggle to get over the line.

In terms of a correct score tip, we think that it seems unlikely that this one will turn out to be a demolition. The visitors have scored in 88% of their away matches but Exeter do average 1.81 goals per game on home soil. All of this leads us to believe that backing a 2-1 home win looks like a good bet.
