      Exeter vs Liverpool Predictions

Exeter will have been hoping to come into this massive match in a bit better shape than they are. They have lost their last four games in League Two and haven’t avoided defeat since their FA Cup 2nd Round win over Port Vale.

Their defence is a real issue at the moment, with ten goals being shipped in these four defeats. This poor run of form has seen them slip down to 16th in the League Two table, and it will be a huge surprise if the hosts manage to get something against Liverpool.

Liverpool scraped a narrow first leg win over Stoke in the Capital One Cup semi final first leg on Tuesday, a result which makes it three wins and two defeats in their last five matches in all competitions.

All of their wins have seen them keep clean sheets, although they have conceded five in their two defeats. This is typical of the inconsistency that Jurgen Klopp has been seeing from his side recently.

It will be interesting to see Jurgen Klopp’s team selection on Friday. They played a tough game on Tuesday and face a Premier League clash with Arsenal next Wednesday, followed by a weekend match against Manchester United.

In addition to this busy schedule they have also suffered a number of injuries, the most recent being the hamstring problems of defensive duo Kolo Toure and Dejan Lovren during the match against Stoke.

Despite their injury problems and busy schedule, I don’t think Jurgen Klopp will risk an embarrassing FA Cup exit to Exeter by putting out a massively weakened side. I’m expecting a fairly strong team to be named on Friday.

Considering all of Liverpool’s last three wins have seen them keep a clean sheet and Exeter have failed to score twice in their last four outings I think odds of 7/5 for Liverpool to Win to Nil are excellent value for money. I’m going for that along with a comfortable, if unspectacular, 2-0 win for the visitors at 6/1.
