Mirandes 2-1

Reason for tip

Mirandes have scored exactly two goals in three of their last six away games but rarely keep clean sheets on the road. Meanwhile, FC Cartagena have scored in four of their last five home games and can register in a probable 2-1 loss for the rock-bottom club.

FC Cartagena vs Mirandes Predictions

  • A win against already-relegated FC Cartagena could be enough to take Mirandes up automatically
  • FC Cartagena have lost six of their last eight league games with both teams scoring in five
  • Mirandes have won four of their last five Segunda matches with BTTS landing in three

Wild Boars pick up the scent of automatic promotion

Mirandes will hope a win at already-relegated FC Cartagena will be enough to take them up automatically when the final round of Segunda Division matches play out on Sunday.

The visitors arrive in great form after recording four wins and a draw in their last five games to lock up at least a playoff place.  Alessio Lisci’s side still harbour hopes of a top-two finish with that outcome dependent on Elche losing to lowly Deportivo La Coruna and Real Oviedo not beating mid-table Cadiz if they can hold their end of the bargain up.

The Wild Boars really should be able to overcome a Cartagena side with major flaws in their rearguard. The Zebras have shipped a staggering 75 goals this season, which is 13 more than those clubs that share the unwanted record of having the next worst defensive records.

Hosts are capable of scoring in defeat

Guillermo Fernández Romo’s men sit at the foot of the table with only six league wins to their name all season, albeit two of those have come in their last four contests. Although those 1-0 victories at home to promotion-chasing Racing Santander and relegated Tenerife point to signs of life, there is little chance they keep Mirandes at bay this weekend.

The visitors have seemingly solved their away day issues with back-to-back road wins and they can grab all three points here with both teams on the scoresheet. Both teams have scored in five of FC Cartagena’s last eight games, of which they have lost six while BTTS has landed in three of Mirandes’ last four wins, which came in succession prior to a 0-0 draw against promotion rivals Almeria last time out.
