Spain vs France Predictions

  • Six of France’s last seven have seen both teams score
  • Spain have scored in their last eight games
  • The Spanish have seen BTTS land in five of their last seven
  • Benzema has scored nine goals across his last eight games

France’s momentum to edge it

France were awful in the first half of their semi-final against Belgium, but a turnaround sent them into the second Nations League final. That dramatic 3-2 victory has to have been a boost to the world champions, but will that deliver them more silverware?

Spain ended Italy’s unbeaten streak and there’s little doubt this is a side on their way back to the top. However, the quality in the French side marks them out as the favourites as far as I’m concerned. The quality in the French side should be enough to fire them to victory, so I’d back them either in the match odds or outright winner markets.

Benzema the man to back

A big reason behind the French turnaround was the display from Karim Benzema, who has been fantastic for France since returning to the side. He’s scored five times in his last six games for the national side and his displays for Real Madrid mean that the Spanish know he’s one to fear.

Benzema has scored in five of his last six games for club and country. Across his eight games since the end of the last international break Benzema has scored nine times. With that brilliant form behind him, back the Frenchman to find the net in this clash.

Back goals in Milan

Benzema is a man in form, but Spain have their own in the shape of Ferran Torres. He scored twice for the national side in midweek and he’s now scored in three on the spin for Spain. The Spanish have scored in each of their last eight games after a frustrating start to Euro 2020 and their attacking woes from the group stage look a thing of the past.

France were poor defensively in their semi-final and they’ve now seen both teams score in six of their last seven matches. Five of Spain’s last seven have also seen both teams score, so that’s my main tip for this clash. With France the side to back, a 2-1 victory for the world champions is my correct score prediction.
