FC Dallas vs Columbus Crew Betting Tips & Predictions

FC Dallas came into the new MLS season as hot favourites for the Supporters Shield this season, but they didn’t give their backers much hope as they opened the campaign with a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Texan rivals Houston Dynamo.

Fortunately, they did manage to pick themselves up from this in the next game when they beat Montreal Impact 2-0, and they followed this with a 3-0 win away at DC United to put their defensive troubles behind them.

Despite their rocky opening match, they do look like a team capable of topping the tables come the end of the season, and they are hot on the tails of early season leaders of the Western Conference Sporting Kansas City.

Columbus Crew missed out on the MLS Cup last season as Portland Timbers beat then 2-1 in the final, and the opening match of the new season saw Timbers rub salt into those fresh wounds with another 2-1 victory. This was followed by a defeat to Philadelphia Union and a goalless draw away to Chicago Fire last time out.

Maximilliano Urruti and Michael Barrios have proved to be indispensable in these victories, with them netting four of FC Dallas’ five goals between them. I think they could have some more success on Sunday when they line up against a Columbus Crew side who have lost four of their last five away games and scored just two in the process.
