FC Eindhoven vs RKC Predictions

It was definitely a case of two points dropped for FC Eindhoven as their three match winning streak came to an end with a 0-0 home stalemate against Jong Utrecht last week, but David Nascimento’s side can take huge credit for their recent run which has lifted them eight points clear of the bottom four. Blauw-witten take on RKC at Jan Louwers Stadion this Friday, and they’ll fancy their chances of a fourth success in five having beaten their opponents in each of the last eight meetings between the teams.

David Nascimento must have been on thin ice at FC Eindhoven after his side accrued just ten points from their first 13 league fixtures, but the Portuguese has done extremely well to start turning things around from mid-November onwards.

Blauw-witten have put a significant gap between themselves and the second tier stragglers thanks to consecutive victories against Dordrecht (0-3), Helmond Sport (2-1) and Cambuur (1-3), and although a goalless draw at home to 18^th placed Jong Utrecht last week rates as a disappointing result, it’s unlikely to kill too much momentum considering Eindhoven dominated and just failed to make the breakthrough after a wad of efforts on goal.

Eindhoven turn out at Jan Louwers Stadion again this Friday, and their clash against RKC could well see them mark an immediate return to winning ways.

Certain fixtures throw up significant patterns of results – and this is definitely one of them. The two sides have been generally well matched in terms of the overall league table across the past few seasons, but FC Eindhoven have established a lengthy spell of domination over the Waalwijk outfit in the head to head.

Eindhoven have incredibly won each of the last eight meetings between the teams, including a 3-1 success in last season’s corresponding game, and that has to give the hosts a telling psychological edge going into this Friday’s contest.

The hosts won’t be taking RKC lightly though – Fred Grim’s side have also won three of their last four league outings and recorded an impressive 3-1 triumph at home to MVV on match day 17.

However, RKC’s form on the road does leave something to be desired. Waalwijk have won two and lost six of their eight away outings so far this term, and one of those successes did come against bottom club Helmond Sport.

So, although FC Eindhoven have largely shown their best on their travels as opposed to at Jan Louwers Stadion, we’re backing Nascimento’s men to bank the points this Friday and tighten their stranglehold on their rivals.

Don’t expect many goals in this as both teams average little more than a single goal per game, and we’re opting for a 1-0 correct score in favour of the hosts alongside our main match bet.
