      Under 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

With these sides netting just one goal between them across their four combined matches at this tournament, the under has to be considered an appealing bet. Under 2.5 goals has landed in six of Al Ahly’s last seven games away from their Cairo International Stadium base and looks likely to hit again.

      FC Porto 1-0

      Reason for tip

Despite their struggles continuing at this tournament, Porto should still have enough to secure a narrow victory against a poor Al Ahly side. Samu Aghehowa is a real threat and there are enough equally talented players in the Dragons’ squad to suggest they can edge a clash with Al Ahly, who look set to end the tournament without finding the net.

FC Porto vs Al Ahly Predictions

      • Porto have taken just one point from their opening two Club World Cup games
      • Al Ahly also have one point to their name, failing to score in either of their matches
      • Just one of Al Ahly’s last seven matches on the road featured over 2.5 goals

Struggling duo destined for low-scoring affair

A dreadful season for Porto has shown no signs of improving at the Club World Cup and, after losing 2-1 to Inter Miami after their opening 0-0 draw with Palmeiras, they are in real danger of an early exit.

A win over Al Ahly in their final group-stage might be enough to see them progress but, in their current form, there is no guarantee the Dragons beat their Egyptian foes.

Al Ahly also have just one point to their name, drawing a blank in each of their matches at the tournament, suggesting they have little chance of replicating their runners-up finish in 2018.

Goals could come at a premium in New Jersey

Porto are strong favourites to secure three points but there is little value in backing a side who have endured a miserable campaign, failing to make the last 16 in the Europa League and finishing well behind the top two in the Primeira Liga.

Instead, looking at the goal market could be the move. A tetchy affair can be expected with both sides needing a win to have any chance to progress and under 2.5 goals, which has landed in six of Al Ahly’s last seven on the road, appeals as a result.

Al Ahly accumulated just 0.29 expected goals in their 2-0 defeat to Palmeiras, highlighting their lack of attacking fluidity, while Porto have amassed just six shots on target at the tournament.
