      FC Porto vs Feyenoord Predictions

      • Porto have home advantage on Thursday which could prove key to their qualification hopes.
      • Feyenoord have only won once in the group stage but have lost the same amount of games (2) as Porto and Young Boys above them.
      • Just three points separate bottom of the table Feyenoord and the leaders Rangers heading into the final round of fixtures.
      • Porto are yet to lose at home in Group G but even a point on Thursday might not be enough to qualify.

Home advantage could prove key to Thursday’s result

Under 2.5 goals were produced when these two clubs met for their reverse group fixture back in October, where Feyenoord ran out 2-0 winners. Porto are unbeaten in their last six matches, picking up five wins and a draw, while Feyenoord are also unbeaten in their last six matches, but have only picked up two wins and four draws during that period.

The hosts have kept four clean sheets in their last six attempts and under 2.5 goals have been scored in three of their last six matches and the visitors have only kept two clean sheets in their last six matches and four of those games have produced under 2.5 goals, so you can see why we have gone with a narrow win in favour of the hosts this Thursday.

Porto have picked up two wins and one draw from their five group games in the Europa League and Feyenoord have only one once so far in Group G so far. Porto have won all six home games in the Primeira Liga while Feyenoord have only won two of their eight away games in the Eredivisie but have drawn four times, which adds weight to our prediction for Porto to avoid defeat on Thursday.

Feyenoord have only won once in Group K and could struggle to score in Porto

The hosts average 3.00 points per home game and the visitors average just 1.25 points per away game, with Porto scoring an average of 2.20 goals per home game and conceding an average of 0.00 goals and Feyenoord scoring an average of 1.38 goals per away game and conceding an average of 1.63 goals. Feyenoord’s away games have produced an average of 3.00 goals so far this season but we don’t expect the visitors to score which is why we believe just the two goals will be produced in Thursday’s clash.

Porto are yet to concede a single goal at home and haven’t failed to score in their own backyard while Feyenoord have failed to score in 25% of their away games A majority of Porto’s wins this season have been obtained by a margin of two goals or more (6 wins) while Feyenoord have suffered three defeats by a margin of two goals or more already this season.

We’re confident that Porto will win on Thursday and we have predicted a final scoreline of 2-0. Porto are yet to concede a goal or drop any points at home domestically and realistically Feyenoord have to go for the win if they want to qualify and that means there will be gaps at the back for Porto to exploit this Thursday.
