FC UNA Strassen vs Dundee United Predictions
- Strassen have not scored in any of their three previous European games
- The hosts were beaten 5-0 by Finnish side KuPS at this stage last season
- Dundee United beat AZ in a Conference League qualifier back in 2022/23
Tangerines fancied to do the double
Dundee United beat Strassen in the first leg of their Conference League qualifier and are fancied to get the better of their opponents once again when the pair meet for the second leg in Luxembourg on Thursday.
The Tangerines played without a Scottish player in their XI for the first time in their history with all of their 11 additions over the summer hailing from further afield.
They will take time to gel and Jim Goodwin’s side should improve for the run following their narrow victory.
The hosts missed a number of chances to make things more comfortable but should have little issue following up against these opponents.
Dundee United have added to their physicality over the summer and that will be to their advantage in this second leg as they face a team who mustered just five shots in the first game.
Strassen lost 5-0 on aggregate to Finnish side KuPS last season in their only other European tie and their preparations to this second leg have been disrupted after environmental protests meant that their flight home was cancelled, meaning that they had to spend an extra night in Scotland.
That can’t have helped the minnows who may find themselves on the end of another European defeat.
The Tangerines should be able to secure another 1-0 win in this one.
