FC Utrecht Reserves vs FC Den Bosch Predictions

After Sparta Rotterdam’s shock 3-0 defeat at Helmond Sport on Friday, both Go Ahead Eagles and Den Bosch have the opportunity to move clear at the top of Eerste Divisie this Monday night. The latter saw their eight match winning streak broken on match day 15 as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Cambuur, but The Blue White Dragons are red hot favourites to seal their 11th victory of the season here against second bottom Jong Utrecht.

There’s no doubt that Den Bosch were below par last week and Wil Boessen’s side had to dig deep to take a point from their game against Cambuur at Stadion De Vliert.

Fortunately for The Blue White Dragons, they got back on level terms ten minutes from time thanks to Danny Verbeek – and the draw was enough in the end to keep Den Bosch in a share of the lead at the top of Eerste Divisie.

Fans will hardly be disappointed after their amazing eight match winning run, which is unlikely to be matched by any other team this season, and it could well prove to be the catalyst for automatic promotion come the end of the season.

Den Bosch will view this Monday’s fixture as must win, and there will be no excuses if they can’t take care of Jong Utrecht at Sportpark De Westmaat.

Boessen’s men have triumphed in six of their seven away games this term, whilst the hosts have lost six of their last seven league fixtures – the most recent of those being a 2-0 defeat at Volendam on match day 15.

Robin Pronk’s side finished rock bottom last term and are only avoiding bottom spot at the moment through goal difference, having scraped just nine points together so far from their 15 matches this season.

One positive for Jong heading into this Friday’s contest is that they’ve picked up eight of those points in Utrecht after two wins, two draws and three losses from seven outings, and they overcame defending champions Jong Ajax in a 4-3 thriller at Sportpark De Westmaat a fortnight ago.

Jong managed to hold Den Bosch to a 1-1 draw here in 2017/18, but in truth it would be a massive surprise if they repeated the feat this time around, and we think the visitors can triumph here comfortably by at least a two goal margin.

Wil Boessen’s charges have successfully covered a one goal handicap in three of their six victories on the road this season, and they won’t have many easier away assignments to come for the duration of the campaign.

The Blue White Dragons pummelled Telstar 1-4 when last on their travels two weeks ago, and we’re also going for the same score line in this fixture.
