Over 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Both of these arch rivals can ill-afford to sit back as they look to chase down runaway Eredivisie leaders PSV Endhoven, so expect the latest episode of De Klassieker to generate plenty of goals.

Feyenoord vs Ajax Predictions

  • Feyenoord are unbeaten in the league but have drawn four of their nine Eredivisie matches
  • Both teams have scored in 16 of Ajax’s last 19 away Eredivisie games
  • There have been at least four goals on ten of the last 14 occasions Ajax have been on their league travels

Goals look likely in Rotterdam clash

Feyenoord against Ajax remains the biggest game in Dutch football, but both head into battle in Rotterdam on Wednesday knowing the cannot afford many more slip-ups if they are going to battle it out for the title this season.

PSV Eindhoven lead the table having collected a maximum return from their ten games so far and they already enjoy an 11-point lead over their rivals, so that should ensure neither of these teams sit back in their midweek clash.

Ajax won 4-3 at RKC Waalwijk in their last away game and the match mirrored many of their other road outings which have tended to be full of goals.

The leaders are the only team in the top division to have conceded fewer goals than these two, but both need to go on the front foot so it should be a goal-filled encounter.

Rivals may be tough to split

Like the leaders Feyenoord, who waved goodbye to new Liverpool boss Arne Slot over the summer, are unbeaten, but they have drawn four of their nine matches, which has contributed to them losing ground to the boys from Eindhoven.

This could be another match where they fail to gain a full return as, although Ajax have suffered one defeat this season, there is little to separate them in the table, so Wednesday’s clash could be a draw with 2-2 of possible interest to correct-score-betting enthusiasts.
