Finland vs Kazakhstan Predictions

  • Finland have lost their last two games to drop out of pole position in Group H
  • Kazakhstan have won two of their three away qualifiers in the group
  • Kazakhstan have kept clean sheets in three of their last five qualifiers while Finland have not scored in their last two.

Tense times for two qualifying outsiders

Finland and Kazakhstan need to win all of their remaining qualifiers and hope that Slovenia or Denmark slip up to let them in automatically, although both could have backdoor routes in via the play-offs.

The situation in Group H makes Tuesday’s clash very tense and that could help the visitors pull off another surprise win.

Kazakhstan have never before made it to a major finals, but victory over Denmark in their opening game and two wins over Northern Ireland mean they still have a shout.

Kazakhstan finished the stronger against Danes

The two wins over the Irish were achieved with canny counter-attacking performances and they can be expected to sit deep and try to turn Finland around with long balls over the top to release their forwards on Tuesday.

The Finns have lost their way since edging a close 1-0 win in Astana last month and are not worthy of support at the odds-on quote. Backing the visitors at the incredible price of 5/1 looks like the play here, particularly given how they acquitted themselves after going 3-0 down to Denmark on Saturday.

The game could easily have finished 3-2 as they finished the stronger of the two teams and if they carry that momentum into this game the three points can be theirs.
