      Fiorentina vs Atalanta Predictions

Fiorentina moved to the top of the Serie A table with an eye catching 4-1 thrashing of Inter Milan at the San Siro. It’s been a somewhat wild opening to the Italian football season in general, but that game just about capped it off. Fiorentina were quick to show that it was no fluke by beating Portuguese side Belenenses 4-0 in midweek Europa League action. They are one of Italy’s more exciting teams and they have started the season very well winning five of their first six games. They’ve also played a lot of football over the last few weeks and several players will be looking forward for the international break.

Atalanta might start this game as a significant underdog, but it’s hard to fault their overall performance in 2015-16. They lost their opening game away from home against Inter Milan, but they’re unbeaten in five games since and there’s a couple of good results in there, most notably a draw with Sassuolo and this past weekend, a win over Sampdoria. The trip to Fiorentina is probably their biggest challenge since the Inter game and it’ll be interesting to see whether their defensive set-up holds them up.

      Three Reasons for Betting Tips

      1. Odds look good

4/6 isn’t so short that you get no returns on an on-fire Fiorentina and we like the home match-up against Atalanta that will set up shop and get men behind the ball.

      2. Atalanta quality of opponent

We’re still not convinced by the teams that Atalanta have played against this season, they’ve done well and we don’t see this team getting dragged into a battle for survival, but neither do we see them being a strong top half finisher. This is a tough trip.

      3. Fiorentina’s point to prove

We don’t expect any let down in performance from Fiorentina. This club has appeared to be on a mission this season and they drilled that home last weekend, we don’t expect any let up in quality from a team that felt snubbed in much of the preseason discussion.
