Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Over 2.5 goals has landed in Qarabag’s last four European games, while there have been at least three goals scored in four of Copenhagen’s last six games overall. Both attacks are in form and can contribute to the total so over 2.5 goals looks the best bet here.

FC Copenhagen 2-1

Reason for tip

Qarabag stunned Benfica in the opening round but they had to come back from 2-0 down to claim that win. The Azerbaijan outfit lost to Ferencvaros at home during qualifying and may find Copenhagen too strong. The visitors were unlucky to only take a point against Bayer Leverkusen in their opening Champions League game and can get three points on the board with a 2-1 win in Baku.

FK Qarabag vs FC Copenhagen Predictions

  • Over 2.5 goals has landed in Qarabag’s last four European games.
  • There have been at least three goals scored in four of Copenhagen’s last six games.
  • Copenhagen have just one defeat in their last 11 games.

Qarabag and Copenhagen bid to build on positive starts

Qarabag and Copenhagen both picked up impressive results in the opening round of Champions League games and both will feel they can claim maximum points ahead of their meeting in Baku on Wednesday.

Copenhagen claimed a 2-2 draw at home to Bayer Leverkusen and were only denied all three points by a late leveller. Qarabag pulled out the real shock of the first round, as they fought back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Benfica.

The visitors have a bit more quality within their squad and may be able to claim the points, but the best option could be focusing on goals as both of these teams look capable of contributing.

Qarabag have scored in six consecutive games and are yet to draw a blank in seven European games this season, including qualifiers. Copenhagen have each of their last 12 games across all competitions.

Baking both teams to score is one option but there is a bit more value in going for over 2.5 goals in total. There have been at least three goals scored in total in each of the hosts’ last four European games and in four of the Danish visitors’ last six overall.

Qarabag’s win over Benfica suggests they could be a bit of a surprise package in this competition but they did lose at home to Ferncvaros during qualifying and Copenhagen look capable of getting a win in Azerbaijan, so a 2-1 win for the visitors is the correct score pick.
