Fleetwood Town vs Millwall Predictions
At this stage of the season, with the two automatic promotion spots seemingly all sewn up, a place in the play-offs is the best possible finish that either of these two can hope for. Fortunately, both are on course to achieve that but there is still work to do to make sure.
Fleetwood managed to bounce back from a slight hiccup when beating Peterborough last time out and are very much fancied to gain another positive result at the ground where they’ve been very difficult to beat this season. At the prices, backing the hosts on the ‘Draw No Bet’ market makes plenty of sense as it really is hard to see them getting turned over here.
On their own patch, Uwe Rosler’s men really have been outstanding over the course of this season. They’ve lost just three matches and have conceded just 20 goals, boasting one of the best defensive records in the division. In addition, with 18 clean sheets (nine of which have come at home), the hosts have shut out their opposition more times than any other team in League One.
Millwall are certainly no slouches when it comes to defending, but if it comes down to who is harder to beat, then the hosts are the team to side with all day long. What’s more, with an extra five points to their name, Fleetwood can afford to sit deep and keep things tight – something they’ve become experts at doing over the course of this campaign.
The onus really is on Millwall to make something happen here and they could find it hard. Getting caught on the counter will be a concern for Neil Harris, but this might be a risk that the visitors have to take with Southend hot on their heels in 7th place. Such a tactic really doesn’t bode well for the visitors, as they’ve often been caught out on the road, having kept just three clean sheets away from home this season.
This is a fixture where Fleetwood really do seem to hold all the aces and they’re expected to remain resolute and gain another good result on their way to securing a place in the play-offs.
