      Fleetwood Town vs Walsall Predictions

The Saddlers are having an excellent season and have coped well with the departure of long-serving manager Dean Smith to Championship Brentford. They have suffered just 1 defeat in their last 12 matches and no side in League One has lost fewer games than the West Midlands club.

Walsall were within seconds of going top of the league on Saturday but conceded a last minute equaliser at home to Blackpool after Jason Demetriou had put them in front at the Banks’s Stadium. As a result they slipped to 3rd place but can recover top spot with 3 points here.

Fleetwood are more interested in what is happening at the bottom of the league and they have made up some ground so far this year. They are unbeaten in 4 matches in 2016 but the last 3 have all been draws with the most recent being a 0-0 draw against Doncaster at the weekend.

Their home form has been pretty good of late although many of their wins have been in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy rather than the league. While a potential date at Wembley is something to look forward to for a club of their size, league survival must remain the priority and they remain in the relegation zone heading into this game.

The visitors don’t lose many games and have won 4 of their last 6 on the road so they are comfortable playing away from home and might have too much for Fleetwood here. Certainly at 5/6 in the ‘draw no bet’ market they look worth a punt given these two are at completely opposite ends of the league.

Walsall have already won to nil 6 times away from home this season and therefore odds of 11/1 for them to win 2-0 look pretty good.
