Forest Green stumbling towards promotion

There is a nine point gap between Forest Green and the play-offs, but their form remains unspectacular, with their two recent wins, both by a slender 1-0 margin, coming against relegation threatened Colchester and Scunthorpe.

Before those victories, Rob Edwards’ side were on a seven game run without tasting success, a period which included defeats to Crawley, Walsall and Bradford.

They have been the outstanding team in the division, but the last two months has been patchy and there is every chance Rovers will slip up in this fixture.

Mansfield aiming for the top three

A superb 1-0 victory over Northampton at the weekend made it three wins in four for Mansfield, who are now one of four teams on 66 points, meaning victory here would lift them into third spot.

Nigel Clough’s side very much have their sights set on automatic promotion, and recent away wins over Oldham and Rochdale have certainly elevated their ambitions.

The Stags have picked up six victories on their travels in the league, losing only two of the last twelve in all competitions.

Mansfield look primed for promotion and I think they would pick up a win here, so an away victory is my initial selection, picking 2-1 as a correct score prediction.
