France vs Iceland Predictions
- Iceland conceded 13 goals in their Nations League pool last year
- The visitors shipped five goals in home and away defeats to Kosovo to start 2025
- France scored 29 times, conceding three, in their eight Euro 2024 qualifiers
France to cruise to victory
France have already passed their biggest test in this World Cup qualifying campaign, as they won 2-0 in their away fixture against Ukraine. They continue what should be a procession to the next World Cup with a home clash against Iceland on Tuesday.
Iceland thumped Azerbaijan 5-0 in their first game, but the tables could turn on them in Paris. The visitors have struggled for much of 2025, losing home and away to Kosovo in their Nations League playoff, before a 1-0 defeat away to Northern Ireland in June.
New national side manager Arnar Gunnlaugsson hasn’t made the greatest start, especially as they were outplayed in both legs against Kosovo.
France finished their last qualifying campaign scoring 29 times across eight games, winning seven of those. They conceded only three times, so this is likely to be a one-sided affair.
Iceland’s Nations League campaign in 2024 saw them ship 13 goals in six games, facing Wales, Turkey, and Montenegro. They take on a France side spearheaded by Kylian Mbappe, who is looking to smash Thierry Henry’s international scoring record after drawing level with him last time out. Expect a routine win, with the hosts covering a -2 handicap.
