Fulham vs Barnsley Predictions

Fulham to turn over Tykes with ease

Fulham should turn over Barnsley at Craven Cottage on Saturday as Marco Silva’s side attempt to extend their winning streak to seven straight games.

The Tykes spent the international break interviewing prospective new managers after the departure of Markus Schopp, who was sacked after a run of one win from 15 league games and seven consecutive defeats.

Sweden Under-21 boss Poya Asbaghi is their choice to try to salvage a season which already looks destined to be mired in a relegation dogfight. Only Derby’s 21-point punishments keep Barnsley off the foot of the table and they are the only team in the division yet to win on the road.

Barnsley may bend but not completely break

They have failed to register a goal in three of their last four away games, against inferior sides to Fulham, so backing them to score on Saturday seems a fool’s errand. The Tykes have been able to prevent their opponents from racking up wide-margin wins against them though, so an ‘unders’ play may prove brave and profitable here.

Brave because Fulham put seven past Blackburn a couple of games ago, but Silva’s side have not scored as many goals at home (19) as on their travels (25).

Fewer than four goals have been scored in six of Fulham’s eight Championship home games this season, so we feel an Under 3.5 goals bet has merit.

Although when considering a correct score bet, the likelihood that Fulham can be the fourth team to score three goals against Barnsley has to be pretty high. No side has managed four, though, yet.
