Predictions & Tips

Fulham to Win @ 8/15

We use stars to rate our confidence in our tips, with 3 being most confident to 1 being the least.
Fulham 1-0 @ 7/1

Reason For Fulham vs Barnsley Predictions

  • Barnsley head into this clash with 5 defeats in their previous 6 games.
  • The Tykes have lost 11 of their 15 trips this term.
  • The Cottagers have won 6 of their 7 home meetings with the bottom 8.
  • Barnsley have failed to score in 47% of their trips this term.

Fulham’s Revenge

Fulham’s return to the second-tier was dented in the opening weekend with a loss to Barnsley. Meanwhile, the Oakwell side never really improved on that opening day success, which has left them bottom of the pile and heading towards the drop.

Fulham have recovered to push for promotion, but can they continue to hunt down the top two with three points at home to the weakest side in the division?

Barnsley off the Boil

Barnsley’s brief revival came to a quick end, which has sent them back to the bottom of the pile. When their form went, it completely collapsed, with the Tykes losing five of their last six games ahead of this visit to Fulham.

However, the visitors have had their issues all season, including 11 defeats from their 15 trips in the Championship this term. That includes three on the bounce on their travels, while things are unlikely to get any better for Barnsley, having seen them lose four of their last five clashes with Fulham.

Must Win for Cottagers

Fulham have to be picking up maximum points from matches like this to stay in the promotion race. However, that’s exactly what they’ve done so far. Against the bottom eight in the table, Fulham have won six of their seven home clashes.

We expect the Cottagers to add to that in their clash this weekend, especially given that they’re facing off with the league’s bottom side. Given Barnsley’s run of five defeats in six, we are backing them to lose this trip to the capital. A Fulham win looks like value to us given how the pair are shaping up for this clash.

So far this season, Fulham have won by a single goal in 60% of their home victories. Meanwhile, 73% of Barnsley’s away losses have been by a single goal, with the Tykes failing to score in 47% of their trips. Fulham have scored more than once in just one of their last eight league games, while Barnsley have conceded a goal in 87% of their trips. As a result, a 1-0 home win is our correct score selection here.
