Fulham vs Brighton Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in five of Fulham’s last eight Premier League matches.
  • Both teams have registered in eight of Brighton’s last 10 Premier League assignments.
  • Brighton have drawn 50% of their last eight Premier League fixtures.
  • Fulham are averaging just 1.0 goals per home game this season.

Fulham’s confidence builder

Fulham sank into the bottom three again after the latest round of Premier League fixtures, though the Cottagers would have taken huge amounts of confidence from their 1-1 draw with Liverpool despite their eventual descent down the standings.

The relegation favourites were well worth the lead given to them by Bobby Reid against the champions, and but for a contentious late spot-kick, Scott Parker’s side might have been celebrating a famous result.

A return of four points from a tough trio of games against Leicester, Man City and Liverpool is an excellent haul for Fulham nonetheless, and it sets the Cottagers up nicely for their meeting with Brighton this week.

Brighton picking up the pieces

Brighton have largely been a competitive force in this season’s Premier League despite their relatively meagre points haul, though the Seagulls were decidedly second best when they were torn to shreds by Leicester on Sunday.

Albion were three goals down by half time at the King Power Stadium, and despite a slightly better showing in the second period, their overall performance ranks among Brighton’s worst this season.

The Seagulls have now won just once in their last 11 Premier League assignments, and Graham Potter will need to start producing better results to disarm his swelling band of detractors.

Goals at both ends anticipated

Fulham and Brighton have displayed a propensity for both scoring and conceding in their Premier League fixtures this season, and the evidence suggests that backing goals at either end again represents the best value on Wednesday evening.

The Cottagers’ 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Sunday was the third time in four Premier League contests and the fifth match in eight overall involving Fulham where both teams found the net, while Brighton have seen both teams register in eight of their last 10 top-flight tussles since mid-September.

With just three clean sheets between them in a combined 24 Premier League fixtures since the summer, both Fulham and Brighton have rarely looked like keeping their opponents out this term, and chances to score should present themselves to attacking players on either side of the dividing line at Craven Cottage on Wednesday.

Alongside our both teams to score forecast, our 1-1 correct score prediction tips these well-matched looking outfits to take a share of the spoils in the capital.

No club has drawn more often than Brighton in the Premier League this season, and the Seagulls ended level with their opponents in 50% of their last eight top-tier tests.

Fulham meanwhile, have won just once at home since their promotion, and their average of 1.0 goals per 90 minutes on their own patch suggests that lack the firepower to outgun Albion this week.

Fulham injuries and team news

After their superb performance and draw against Liverpool, Scott Parker could name an unchanged side for Fulham’s clash with Brighton.

The potential return of Kenny Tete could give Parker something to think about in defence however, while Tom Cairney will also be targeting a recall in midfield.

Brighton injuries and team news

Florin Andone and Adam Lallana are both injured and won’t feature for Brighton, though Tariq Lamptey will hope to be fit enough to play.

The Seagulls could switch things up a bit following their hammering at Leicester, and Aaron Connolly, Leandro Trossard and Steven Alzate could be drafted back in to the XI.
