Fulham vs Brighton Predictions
- Only Liverpool have lost fewer games than Brighton
- Both teams have scored in ten of the visitors’ last 11 games
- Joao Pedro has scored four goals in 441 Premier League minutes
Seagulls may be too strong
Brighton have had an impressive start to the Premier League campaign and come into this week in the top four, ahead of Manchester City on goal difference.
They will have been disappointed by a 1-1 draw with Southampton on Friday in which they won the shot count 22-10 but Fabian Hurzeler has made a big impression in his first season as Seagulls manager.
They begin a run of five games against teams currently tenth or lower on Thursday by visiting Fulham, who managed to grind out a 1-1 draw with Tottenham on Sunday despite being reduced to ten men late on.
The Cottagers have had a decent start to the season but have thrown in the odd disappointing performance, particularly when losing 4-1 to Wolves in their last home game.
Marco Silva’s men also have a tough run of games following this one, taking on Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea in their next four outings.
They may struggle against an Albion team that have lost just three times in all competitions this term, twice to Liverpool and once to Chelsea.
Brighton have beaten Manchester City, Tottenham and Newcastle and recorded draws against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.
They have really shared the goals around, with 11 different players finding the net in the league, and once again their transfer business from the summer looks rock solid.
Ferdi Kadioglu, Matt O’Riley and Yankuba Minteh have all caught the eye and young Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba has also impressed in his second campaign in English football.
Cottagers have benefitted from fixture list
Their overall squad depth means that they will not be as diminished by injuries as they were last season and their brand of attacking football is always a pleasure to watch.
Fulham are firm favourites to win this game but their stock may be overinflated due to a fairly soft run of fixtures, Brighton are one of the toughest tests they have had this term.
The Cottagers are also set to be without key defender Joachim Andersen for this match and he is a big miss.
Seagulls can strike
The visitors have the deeper squad and with the games coming thick and fast that could be the crucial difference between these two sides.
Hurzeler’s men have also only been blanked once this term and their attacking prowess may be enough to get the better of these two sides, take Brighton to continue their push for a European spot with a win.
Both teams have scored in ten of the visitors’ last 11 games, side with a 2-1 win for them. They will also benefit from a fully fit Joao Pedro, who has four goals in 441 minutes of league action, he can add to that tally.
