    Tip Reasoning

Fulham continued their push for a Championship Playoff position in midweek with a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest, taking them to 8th position in the table but with another six points to make up before they hit the all important top six.

That victory means they have won four of their last five games in all competitions, and their appetite for goals doesn’t seem to be slowing down. They have scored an impressive 12 goals in these five games, but have also conceded six.

At home they have won four of the bounce now, scoring 12 goals and conceding five at the other end to continue their pattern of high scoring games. Considering their defensive issues, we could be in for a very entertaining game of football here.

Tottenham were also in action in midweek as they visited Gent for the first leg of their Europa League final 32 tie, and they ended up deservedly losing that game 1-0 to follow on from their 2-0 loss to Liverpool last weekend. They have now won nine of their last 13 games in all competitions but have slipped ten points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea.

The FA Cup is likely to be a high priority in terms of trophies now that the Premier League title race is all but over, and as such I think we can expect a rather strong team selection from Mauricio Pochettino.

The usually stout defence of Spurs is missing Danny Rose and Jan Vertonghen quite a lot, and their affinity with clean sheets seems to have disappeared. They have conceded in ten of their last 11 away games, but Fulham have conceded in 15 of their last 18 at home so they will find it even more difficult to keep a clean sheet.

I’m definitely expecting goals here. The hosts showed that they were willing to attack when they hammered Hull 4-1 in the last round of the FA Cup, but against Spurs I expect their defence to come under more scrutiny. 12 of Fulham’s last 14 games have seen at least three goals, with ten of them seeing both teams find the net too. Odds of 1/1 for Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score looks a good value bet, and I’m going for that along with a 3-2 win for Spurs at huge odds of 20/1 for my correct score predictions.
